Cerebrating the Girls day Hinamatsuri! Found a little humble a set of ornamental dolls, made me a big smile. This festive decoration buzzes us for waking up the long winter. No matter how hard this winter has crushed in our big city, I believe the spring season will be visited shortly.

Prunus mume originated in China and Korea but is most often referred to as Japanese Apricot. They typically flower in early spring (March in NYC). Plum blossoms is symbolized of the start of spring. The plum blossom is The national flower of the Republic of China and it is symbol for resilience and perseverance in the face of adversity, because plum blossoms often bloom most vibrantly even amidst the harsh winter snow. Japanese tradition holds that the ume functions as a protective charm against evil, so the ume is traditionally planted in the northeast of the garden, the direction from which evil is believed to come. The eating of the pickled fruit for breakfast is also supposed to stave off misfortune. -wikipedia
